Year: Senior

Intro: Hi everyone, I’m Zach! I’m a senior this year majoring in architectural engineering. I am super excited to lead this amazing organization this year and to continue to ensure that the Ohana family is felt by all those who join or encounter our people!

Why I THON: I THON for endless happy tears for families that get to have their kids ring the bell.

What I’m Excited about in Ohana this Year: I’m looking forward to a year full of fun events with all of our THON families!

Fun Fact: I’ve been skydiving!

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all executive chairs and ensure things are running smoothly

  • Conduct organization meetings, executive team meetings, and keep in close contact with Ohana's advisor

  • The "go-to" position for the organization if there is ever a problem or concern

Administrative Assistant

Will Keane

Year: Junior

Intro: Aloha everyone! My name is Will Keane and most people do in fact call me Will Keane. I am really looking forward to representing Ohana as Admin and am super excited to see what THON 2023 brings. I am from Gladwyne, PA, around 25 minutes outside of Philly. Go birds, trust the process, etc. I am a sports lover and love doing anything outdoors. I am a Marketing major and am also pursuing a Spanish minor and am involved with Club Golf as well.

Why I THON: I THON for my grandmother who is a breast cancer survivor and is one of my personal heroes, and I THON for those who can't.

What I’m Excited about in Ohana this Year: I am looking forward to making countless memories with the entire Ohana family and can't wait to experience another great year with the best org.

Fun Fact: I was my high school's mascot, I was a good looking hawk.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage Ohana Family Facilitators (OFFs)

  • Help plan events for the organization as a whole

  • Assist the executive chair with anything they may need

  • Create a welcoming environment for our members to get to know one another

Family Relations Chair

Intro: Hi everyone! I’m Ashlynn and I’m one of Ohana’s Family Relations Chairs this year! I’m from Milford, PA and I’m going to be a Junior. I’m a Kinesiology major with a minor in Deafness and Hearing Studies. I’m looking forward to a great year with Ohana!!!

Family Relations Chair

Olivia Fisher

Year: Senior

Intro: I am majoring in Elementary and Early Childhood Education with a minor in Human Development and Family Relations. I’m from Bellefonte, PA. Growing up in Happy Valley I have always known that I wanted to attend Penn State and be involved in THON!

Why I THON: I THON for our five amazing families, for more tomorrows, and so every kid can be a kid.

What I’m Looking Forward to for Ohana this Year: This year I am looking forward to spending my senior year with all the amazing people in this organization as well as spending time with our families. I am also looking forward to in person THON weekend!!!

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and foster a year-round relationship with Ohana's Four Diamond families

  • Offer the families our support and ensure they enjoy all of their experiences with Ohana

  • Bridge the connection between the organization and families

  • Make sure the families lie at the heart of our motivation

Year: Junior

Intro: Hi I'm Abbey and I am looking forward to being apart of the leadership team this year! This is my second year in Ohana and I am so happy to be working with such an amazing group of people for an incredible cause!

Why I THON: To make a difference :)

What I’m Looking Forward to for Ohana this Year: Seeing our beautiful families at THON 2023!

Responsibilities: 

  • Plan and run events to bring the entire organization together

  • Maintain the family atmosphere of Ohana

  • Answer questions about events and accept suggestions for future events

  • Promote events, recruit new members, and help retain our family's size

  • Utilize social media to keep members up to date on events and meeting

  • Maintain a link between the general org and our alumni base

Payton glynn

Year: Junior

Intro: My name is Payton Glynn. I am a Junior from Mountain Top, Pennsylvania. I am majoring in Aerospace Engineering and love to play soccer and watch sports.

Why I THON: I THON to bring all of our families happiness and to allow them to focus on spending quality time with their kids.

Donor Alumni Relations Chair

Sophia Fareri

Year: Junior

Major: Biobehavioral Health

Intro: Aloha Everyone! My name is Sophia Fareri and I am one of this year's DAR chairs! This is my second year on leadership and first year on Ohana's executive team. Last year, I was a stingray mom! I am a part of the Health and Human Development Honors Society and BBH Society. Some of my hobbies include listening to music, hanging out with friends, going to the gym, and hot yoga!

Why I THON: I THON for hope of a cure and that one day we are able to dance in celebration for these kids. I THON for all of our kids who have won their battles, our kids who are still fighting, and our angels we have lost. Lastly, I THON for Ohana's five amazing Four Diamonds families, the Karkans, the Dawsons, the Wilsons, the Brysiaks, and the Goods, as we continue to raise millions of dollars for them and all of the other kids.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for any outside donations to Ohana

  • Engage Ohana Alumni with current members

  • Create and maintain a relationship with corporate donors

Logistics Chair

Emily Roberts

Year: Junior

Intro: Hi! My name is Emily Roberts. I'm from Mountain Top, PA (close to Scranton area) and I am a Junior majoring in Political Science and Philosophy with a concentration on Justice, Law, and Values, and a minor in Business and the Liberal Arts. This is my second year being a part of Ohana. Outside of Ohana, I enjoy going to the gym, shopping, going to sporting events, and hanging out with my friends.

Why I THON: I THON for our amazing five families, as well as every four diamonds child that is fighting the struggle of childhood cancer. I THON for every child to have the chance to make more memories and share their stories.

Responsibilities: 

  • Book rooms for meetings and events

  • Keep accurate records of checks, canning efforts, and other fundraising events

  • Keep track of all members' personal points

  • Construct the pass list for THON weekend

Intro: Hi guys, I’m Conor, and I’m a kinesiology major pursuing a nutrition minor. In my free time I enjoy lifting and playing hockey and golf.

Why I THON: I thon so families never have to worry about losing a loved one again.

Intro: Hi everyone! I’m from Pittsburgh, PA and I’m majoring in Middle Level English Education with a minor in Human Development and Family Studies. Besides Ohana, I’m also a Lion Ambassador here on campus!

Why I THON: I THON for more laughter, more tomorrows, and so that no child has to fight alone.

Responsibilities:

  • Organize fundraisers inside and outside of State College

  • Engage members of Ohana to raise money

  • Encourage our families all year in support of the Four Diamonds Fund to end pediatric cancer

Merchandise Chair

Year: Sophomore

Intro: Hi everyone! My name is Aidan, and I'm excited to be this year's merchandise chair for Ohana! I am from Coatesville, Pa, and am a sophomore majoring in engineering. I love baseball, hiking, mountain biking, and anything in the outdoors. Can't wait to design some awesome merch!!

Why I THON: I THON so that families can focus on what matters during challenging times, and so that one day no child or family has to face childhood cancer.

Responsibilities:

  • Design all of Ohana's awesome spirit wear

  • Work closely with companies to come up with a creative look for Ohana

  • Order and distribute Ohana merchandise to members
